Over the decades of constant struggle with my weight problem, I involved myself in numerous alternative health dynamics, ranging from hypnotism to bodybuilding and weightlifting, and a succession of non-drug-related approaches. As a result, I accumulated a wealth of knowledge about healthcare in general and decided to expand my writing to include a large chapter titled “Monument To Failure”. Initially thinking that the entire work would total no more than 600 pages, I soon discovered that it could not be contained in 650, 700, or even 800 pages! So, I had no choice but to accept the fact that I would have to publish this opus as two-part book.
To download Nickolas Vassili's Workout chapter from the book, please click here I must warn the reader that this book is not for the faint-hearted. It will be brutally frank, forcing you to either put it out of sight because you are unwilling to examine what it represents on a personal level, or else to read it in its entirety and face a reality that is truly terrifying. The American public has grown accustomed to a way of life that involves drugs, surgeries, unhealthy eating that results in excess weight and obesity, lack of proper exercise, self-destructive lifestyles, mental and emotional unhealthiness, declining healthcare standards (we are ranked 37th among industrialized nations), a meek tolerance for a political system that no longer serves the needs of the people, and a paralyzing indifference to the fact that we are, through ignorance and greed, aiding and abetting the willful demolition of our environment and our planet. Understand from the beginning that this book is meant to confront the powers that be within the entire industry of healthcare in America, and to unearth and expose those individuals, groups, corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies directly responsible for the horrendously inadequate healthcare conditions in America, ones that cause the needless deaths of 500,000 people every year. This will not be a pretty story, nor will it indulge in seeking moderate and less confrontational ways of revealing the full extent of the enormous human tragedy and disaster that engulfs our nation's healthcare system. I will not give in to some false notion of supposed respectability and reverence for institutions merely to appease those at the helm of these deficient organizations. Neither should you look for a balanced opinion, nor complain that this book is overly negative in its views and does not give equal time and space to the more positive aspects of our healthcare structure. It is not meant for these purposes. It is meant to create a tidal wave against the entire heartless healthcare system that is deservedly ranked as the worst in the industrialized world. Above all, please believe that as highly confrontational as it is, this book is meant to inspire vast change. But if we are to recreate and move forward, we must redefine the healthcare system—from top to bottom—and begin anew. That’s what we need—a fresh start.
