A born-and-bred New Yorker who has traveled extensively, Nickolas Vassili now resides in Seattle, Washington, with his wife of 37 years and their four grown children.
The greater part of his earlier professional life was focused on show business, from performing to production and everything in between. In his 20s, he formed America's first theatrical consulting agency, its first repertory training center, and trained a future Academy Award-winning actor.
Later he became a member of the Screen Actors Guild, produced plays, wrote screenplays, helped author a book on dentistry (Inside Dentistry/Everything You Need To Know), and guided the fortunes of Children of the Revolution, a music phenomenon that is the future of contemporary world music.
In Nickolas Vassili's second career as a group therapist, he helped create the foundation for most of the group dynamics now used throughout America, ran more than 4,000 therapy groups (a world record!), and started a community that became a model for the humanist movement of the 1970s.
His latest orbit in life is more like a crusade than a profession: With 35 years of research into healthcare; a background as a group therapist; in-depth experience in drug use, abuse, prevention, and treatment; as well as dieting and exercise, Nickolas Vassili is uniquely qualified to lead the charge against those responsible for the monumental failure of the American healthcare system.
And his goal is not to fix it—but to replace it; just as you would junk a car that is no longer fit for the road or reparable, the same must be done with our present system of healthcare. From Big Pharma to shoddy hospital practices to the special-interest groups, lobbyists, and politicians who manipulate the American medical landscape—it all has to go.
With Monument To Failure in print, and Take Back America about to get rolling, he has his work cut out for him. In that regard, Nickolas is 70 years old, in perfect health, and in fantastic physical condition. As a model of fitness—at any age—he works out extensively, combining all-inclusive preconditioning with heavy-duty bodybuilding and weightlifting and boxing training (yes—at the age of 70!). Consequently, he feels and looks much younger than most men in their 40s and 50s. In fact, some young ladies say “He looks hot”. (See the book cover of So Much Pleasure, So Little Pain).
Knowing that he must maintain this physical standard right on through his 90s and beyond, he intends to go out pumping iron and punching away. |
